The Milwaukee Brewers are one win away from the World Series after delivering a clutch 6–2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday night.

Milwaukee overcame a brief Dodgers lead with back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning, silencing the crowd at Dodger Stadium and putting the two-time defending champions on the brink of elimination.

With the victory, the Brewers improved to a 3–0 series lead in the best-of-seven matchup. Los Angeles must now win Game 4 to keep its season alive.

Jackson Chourio Sets the Tone

The Brewers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Jackson Chourio launched a home run on the first pitch of the game from Dodgers starter Blake Snell, giving Milwaukee an early 1–0 advantage.

From there, the game developed into a pitching battle. Brewers starter Robert Gasser kept Los Angeles off the scoreboard through five innings, allowing three hits while striking out three.

Snell also settled in after the opening homer, striking out nine Milwaukee hitters through six innings. However, the Dodgers left-hander ultimately became part of the story for the wrong reason.

Dodgers Take the Lead, but Milwaukee Responds

Los Angeles finally broke through in the bottom of the sixth inning. After loading the bases with walks, the Dodgers received a two-run double from Will Smith, giving them a 2–1 lead and briefly shifting the momentum toward the home team.

The advantage did not last long.

In the top of the seventh, Andrew Vaughn drew a walk, and Christian Yelich entered as a pinch-runner. Jake Bauers then battled through an 11-pitch at-bat before driving a two-run home run into the right-field pavilion.

Milwaukee reclaimed the lead, 3–2.

Garrett Mitchell followed with a solo home run to right-center field, giving the Brewers consecutive homers and extending their advantage to 4–2.

The back-to-back blasts transformed the game and left the Dodgers searching for answers.

Brewers Add Insurance Runs

Milwaukee continued to apply pressure late in the game.

In the eighth inning, Brice Turang scored on a wild pitch by Dodgers reliever Justin Wrobleski, increasing the lead to 5–2.

Joey Ortiz added another run with a two-strike RBI single in the ninth, pushing the score to 6–2.

Closer Trevor Megill helped finish the job, recording the final outs as the Brewers secured another important postseason victory.

Key Performances

Jackson Chourio gave Milwaukee an immediate spark with his leadoff home run.

Jake Bauers delivered the game's pivotal hit with his two-run homer in the seventh inning, while Garrett Mitchell followed with a solo shot that extended the lead.

Robert Gasser provided five scoreless innings to start the game, allowing the Brewers to remain within striking distance before the offense took over.

For Los Angeles, Will Smith's two-run double temporarily put the Dodgers ahead, but the team could not maintain the advantage after Milwaukee's seventh-inning surge.

Dodgers Face Elimination

The defeat puts Los Angeles in a difficult position. The Dodgers now trail the series 3–0 and must win Game 4 to avoid elimination.

Milwaukee, meanwhile, is one victory away from reaching its first World Series since 1982.

The Brewers have shown an ability to withstand opposing rallies and respond with timely power.

Their comeback in Game 3 demonstrated how quickly the momentum can change in October baseball.

The Dodgers will need a stronger response at the plate and a way to contain Milwaukee's offense if they hope to extend the series.

Phil Day Sports Takeaway

The Brewers are making the most of their opportunities, and Game 3 was another example of their ability to deliver when the pressure rises.

After falling behind in the sixth inning, Milwaukee answered with consecutive home runs that changed the game. The club then added insurance runs and relied on its pitching to close out the victory.

The Dodgers briefly appeared to have seized control, but the Brewers refused to let the opportunity slip away.

With a 3–0 series lead, Milwaukee is now within one win of the World Series. Los Angeles faces a must-win situation in Game 4, while the Brewers have a chance to complete the series and take another major step toward a championship.

Final Score: Milwaukee Brewers 6, Los Angeles Dodgers 2
